The timeline is rolling and the footage keeps flying in. Drop every clip on the right track in real time – picture, B-roll, dialog, atmos, music, SFX, titles – before the client loses their mood.

Schnittgewitter (German for “editing storm”) is a fast arcade game straight from a real editing room. Nine projects take you from a wedding (“something emotional, but please not cheesy”) to a publicly funded documentary about a roundabout. Junk goes in the trash, cuts that land on the beat score bonus points, and flawless scenes get nested and send you a star.

Along the way: clients calling with change requests, a frozen editing app, media going offline and a nephew who says AI could do it in five minutes.

  • Free – no ads, no sign-up
  • Mouse, keyboard (keys 1–7 for the tracks, 0 for trash, space for power-ups) or touch
  • Runs on desktop and mobile, with sound (works muted too)
  • About 15 minutes for all nine projects

Made by Cutter Chris, a video editor from Zülpich near Cologne, Germany – idea, design, code and sound. More games from the editing room: cutter-chris.de/spiel · German version: Schnittgewitter (Deutsch)
